Ray Leonard didn't want that problem during that time in Hagler's career. Hagler was in his prime. No one at that point could beat him. Looking at Leonard, you can tell he wasn't really interested in that fight.

I was lucky enough to have a friend take me to this fight. We sat next to Lennox Lewis' mother and wife or girlfriend. I'm not a Floyd fan, but there is no world where Oscar won 7 rounds. At best 5, but realistically 4. Fun fight to be at huge star power there.

Great fight although Hagler said in an interview that Duran was his favourite title defence because of the way Duran timed his punches. Marvin was far too big and strong for him though. I agree that Hagler had bad decisions made against him and he should have eclipsed Monzons record at the time.
